The State Government on Sunday ordered opening of educational institutions on October 28 in all cyclone and flood affected districts, except Ganjam where the situation is still grim.
The State Government on October 25 last had decided to close the schools and colleges in 13 districts, including in Ganjam due to incessant rains keeping in view the safety of the students. The districts where institutions were closed included Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Naygarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Baleswar and Mayurbhanj.
According to official sources, since the weather is clearing up,schools and colleges will reopen on October 28 (Monday) except inGanjam where classes have been suspended till October 30. However,teachers and staff members would continue to attend their duties in
their respective schools and colleges to make the premises study worthy. Besides, the concerned District Collectors have been told to take decision on the opening of schools and colleges damaged due to cyclone, rains and floods.
