All the schools and colleges, both Government and private, were closed on Saturday due to incessant rains in the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The holiday was declared as the major roads were inundated and water entered into the houses in most parts of the twin city due to incessant rains since Friday night. On Saturday morning, people could not come out of their houses as the roads were completely waterlogged. School buses were either halted midway or could not arrive at the stoppages to carry the students from houses to schools.
