In another shameful incident, a Class-VII student was allegedly raped by a college going youth of her locality under the Belghar police station in Kandhamal district.
The matter came to the fore after the family members of the girl filed an FIR with police on Saturday.
The family members also alleged that the youth had threatened them of dire consequences if they lodge a police complaint.
Meanwhile, the accused has gone underground and a manhunt has been launched to nab him, police said after registering a case in connection with the incident.
According to the complaint, the girl was raped in December 2018 when she had come home from her residential school during vacations.
Sources said the youth had also threatened the girl not to disclose the incident to anybody. Out of fear, the girl returned to her hostel without revealing the incident to her parents.
Later, school authorities sent the girl back after she fell sick. Subsequently, the family members lodged the police complaint after she informed the incident to them.
