The State Government on Tuesday extended the summer vacation of schools till June 25 in view of the prevailing heat wave condition almost across the State.
The schools, which were scheduled to reopen on Wednesday (June 19) after the end of summer vacation, will now reopen on June 26.
“The Government extended the summer vacation of schools till June 25 in view of prevailing heat wave,” said School and Mass Education Department Secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra.
The summer holidays, which usually begin in the first week of May, were advanced to April 18 this year due to torrid heat conditions in many places. PNR
