School Coordinators' dharna at Min's house from Oct 5

The Odisha State School Coordinators’ Association (OSSCA) on Sunday said its 4,000 members would resort to an indefinite dharna in front of the School and Mass Education Minister’s official residence here if the Minister doesn’t hold a discussion over their demands by then.

“We (School Coordinators) are paid half the wage fixed by the Centre now. We have been opposing the irregularities in giving EPF, ESI, salary and maternity leave to us by the Il and FS and the OKCl. Meanwhile 1,057 of us have been expelled. We want a meeting with you before October 4 for discussion over our genuine demands,” demanded association president Jiban Jyoti Ray in a letter to the Minister.

Ray said all the School Coordinators would start sitting on a dharna in front of the Minister’s residence if the later doesn’t hold discussion over their demands by October 4.

Ray informed that the retrenched School Coordinators had staged a dharna here on September 23 to press for their demands.
