Admission in all Government schools, both aided and non-aided, across the State would begin on June 8 and continue till July 15, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Saturday.
He told reporters that the school authorities have been asked to ensure social distancing among students during the admission process.
The State Government would take a decision on reopening of schools after July 31, Dash informed.
When asked about an earlier-reported decision that schools with strength of less than 20 students would be closed from this academic year, the Minister said that no such decision has been taken so far in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and admission in all schools would be held from June 8.
Meanwhile, it has been decided to stop evaluation of Matriculation and Plus Two examinations answer sheets during the weekend shutdowns in 11 districts, he added.
