A final blueprint was prepared for the liver transplant unit at the SCB Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday at a high-level meeting. The decision to this effect had earlier been taken at the Government level.
The new unit would start its operation after modernisation of the fifth floor building of the hospital, the meeting decided. It was also decided to have a 30-bed centralised ICU of the unit at the sixth floor of the building.The new unit is expected to benefit poor patients in a big way.
