The Vigilance police on Wednesday caught SCB Medical College Hospital’s Superintendent office Junior Clerk Dillip Kumar Rout red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 5,000.
He was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe in the office from complainant Rohit Kumar Nayak of Mangalabag in Cuttack to prepare arrear bill of 7th Pay Commission of complainant’s grandmother Sagar Dei, a retired employee of the SCB Medical College.
His residential house at CDA in Cuttack and Government quarter at the SCB Medical Compound was searched. Rout was arrested and forwarded to court.
