The Scheduled Caste (SC) Kalinga Kalandi Kandara Baishnab organisation held a meeting here on Sunday under the chairmanship of its president Sudarsan Das and demanded Scheduled Caste (SC) tag and all related facilities to the Kandara Baishnab community.
Organisation leaders Padma Lochan Das, Narottam Das, Krushna PP Das, Samir Das, Jayanta Das, Gautam Das, Bikal Das and Laxman Das attended accused the State Government of negligence towards the community in providing it SC status.
The association threatened to hold demonstrations if their demand is not fulfilled. Hundreds of Kandara Baishnab people were present in the meeting.
