Supreme Court Judge Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana was denied entry into Rosa Ghara (kitchen) of the Jagannath Temple here during a visit to the shrine on Saturday.
Even as the matter was not highlighted much in media, the judge had expressed his displeasure over the restriction at the temple.
Justice Ramana, after paying obeisance to the deities, wanted to see the temple kitchen. However, the Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) official Sharat Das, who was in charge of the kitchen, prohibited him from entering into it.
Being informed about the matter, the Puri Collector and SP tendered apology and clarified him about the temple’s rituals.
