The State Bank of India, Bhubaneswar Circle donated three water purifiers and a solar panel to Angul-based Bajirout Chhatrabas as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, SBI Bhubaneswar Circle Chief General Manager Vidya Krishnan said that as the institution serves the under privileged children, grooming them into responsible citizens and helping them to integrate into the mainstream of the society, SBI is committed in supporting such types of programmes that help children from the disadvantaged communities and will continue to do so.
Bajirout Chattrabas president Krishna Mohanty commended SBI for its noble gesture and said that the donation would be utilised for providing clean drinking water to the hostel residents and reduce recurring electrical costs.
A mega SHG Mela was also organised by the SBI Angul Regional Branch where CGM Krishnan distributed sanction and disbursement letter to 200 new SHGs and 500 existing SHGs (renewal) amounting to Rs 5.86 crore. Shri Abhay Kishore Pandey, GM (NW-I) and Shri Kundan Jyoti.
