A preliminary probe report by the Balangir Sub-Collector on the Sattu (Chhatua) scam has admitted of large-scale financial irregularities in the supply of Sattu to children and pregnant women. Sources said a three-member committee led by Balangir district Collector Ashish Thakre will further investigate into the scam. Earlier, Collector Thakre had asked the Sub-Collector to investigate and submit a report after the scam came into the limelight. Already the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Assembly which has taken the issue seriously has said that it would investigate into the allegations of irregularities and for this a meeting of the PAC will be held on July 4. PAC Chairman and leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra had said all the concerned officers of the district have been sent notifications in the regard. The Sattu scam came to the limelight through the Right to Information Act.
