Sarvodaya leaders have alleged that their two colleagues, Gyanaranjan Nayak and Sushanta Mohanty, have been falsely implicated in a murder case that occurred in Narasinghpur on May 10 at the behest of a local ruling party leaders, including a senior Minister and liquor mafia. Addressing a Press conference here, freedom fighter Sumitra Choudhury, Baji Rout Chhatravas secretary Krushan Mohanty and social activist Sailaj Rabi said ruling party leaders and liquor mafias out  of jealousness falsely named Nayak and Mohanty as co-conspirators in the murder case as the two had been successfully organised a movement against liquor mafias in the region.

“Nayak was in Cuttack and attending his ailing mother and Mohanty returned from Angul to Narasinghppur in the afternoon after killing of the victim, a supporter of ruling party and a known hooligan with many police cases on May 10. Hence, they were innocent and have no connection with the murder,” they claimed. They informed that Mohanty has already been arrested and Nayak, who is still with his ailing mother,  apprehends arrest at any moment. They demanded that Mohanty be released soon all cases filed against the two be withdrawn soon. They also demanded that real culprits be put behind bars and the conspirators, at whose behest Nayak and Mohanty were booked, be brought to the fore and punished.
