Protesting deteriorating law and order situation in Kendrapada district and demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the murder of Singiri Sarpanch Chitrasen Das, the BJP activists staged a road blockade at Patrapur bridge on the Cuttack-Chandabali road on Monday.
The party members also demanded a Crime Branch inquiry into the alleged murder case. later, the agitators withdrew their agitation following the local tehsildar and the Pattamundai SDPO’s assurance. They assured that the police are in a manhunt to nab the accused persons. “We would bring the matter to the notice of our higher-ups,” the police said.
Vehicular traffic came to standstill due to road blockade on Cuttack-Chandabali road at Patrapur.
Notably, Chitrasen Das was allegedly beaten to death on June 8 last. But the police have failed to nab the culprits.
