--Irked over cases probed against him
: A Sarpanch of Kishore Nagar block in Athmallik sub division is alleged to have threatened an ASI to transfer him from his station within 24 hours. Notably, in the last few days, two cases have been registered in the Kishor Nagar police station against the Sarpanch.
Reportedly, during a Panchayat Samiti meeting of Kishore Nagar, the Sarpanch uttered some offensive language and threatening words against Handapa PS Member, Anukulya Behera. Anukulya along with 12 PS Members had filed an FIR against the Sarpanch in the Kishore Nagar police station.
Later, another case has been registered against the Sarpanch for threatening the coordinator of BJD IT cell, Alok Dehuri. When the police called the Sarpanch to the police station, the latter got berserk over it and threatened the police that he would gherao the police station with his people and get him transferred within 24 hours.
When asked, Athmallik DSP Balakrishna Kanhar said the cases against the Sarpanch were under investigation and appropriate action would be taken against him.
