District and Sessions Judge Mihir Ranjan Parida rejected the bail application of trade unionist and Congress leader Bapi Sarkhel on Monday.
Earlier, the Paradip police were unable to furnish CDs related to the case and had sought more time while the Public Prosecutor too prayed time for further study of the case. But the court ultimately turned down the bail plea. Sarkhel has been arrested in connection with the Seaways Stevedoring Company general manager Mahendra Swain murder case two months ago.
