Sarat to take charge on June 10

Newly-appointed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Pattanayak would assume charge on June 10.

Pattanayak on his return from New Delhi would straight come from the airport here to the Congress Bhawan at 10:30 am and take charge as the OPCC chief at 11:30.

According to a Press release issued by OPCC vice-president Jagneswar Babu, Pattanayak, after assuming his charge, would address the party leaders and workers present at the Congress Bhawan.

Notably, Sarat Pattanayak was appointed as the OPCC president by the AICC in succession to Niranjan Patnaik late last month. As a good omen for him, the Congress performed better than expected in the recent by election to the Brajarajnagar Assembly seat by grabbing the second place after the ruling BJD pushing the BJP to the third position.
