The Saradha group chit fund scam has Odisha link. It was revealed by promoter of the group Sudipta Sen in his 18-page letter to CBI’s Kolkata unit about the company’s property and scam in Odisha. In page number 13 of Sen’s letter, he agreed that in Odisha, the company has a very costly land at Baleswar and also a few plots at Sambalpur.
Even if the plots are sold off, the company won’t be able to pay back the depositors’ assured sum in West Bengal, he mentioned.
Sen in his letter said that marketing leaders of his firm played a major role in the financial scam in Odisha, in which they have gained crores of rupees.
So before paying any amount to the investors, his firm must properly identify who the real investors are, he metioned.
He also accused a powerful marketing leader from Odisha of having cheated him of Rs3 crore in three consecutive years, though Sen preferred to keep mum on the identity of the person.
