Six- members team of the Crime Branch headed by DSP RC Sethy arrived at Rengali to take up the Sanjukta Jaipuria murder case. On their arrival, the team went to the house in village Bijapali where Sanjukta was mercilessly killed under the guise of a puja. The Crime Branch sealed the house. The minor brother and grandmother of the deceased were interrogated by a DSP. Besides, some nearby villagers were questioned.
13 persons with the sister of Sanjukta along with her parents are now lodged in the Jharsuguda Sub Jail for trial. The two minors were shifted to a Brahmapur-based observation home on Sunday. On being asked, the DSP declined to comment anything about the case as it may affect the investigation. Sources said the CB team will halt at Jharsuguda for the next three days.
