A four-day youth leadership workshop for young change makers working in the area of improving sanitation in the State began here on Saturday.
Ten young men and women from across the State from the north in Mayurbhanj to the south in Koraput who, through their efforts have demonstrated their commitment towards the issue and leadership skills, were selected to participate.
Conducted by UNICEF and Bakul Foundation, the youth leadership training is a part of the Mu Volunteer initiative in which young change makers are being identified and coached to become more effective leaders by which they can amplify their impact in their own communities.
The trainings will help these young champions deepen their self-awareness, understand factors contributing to change, habits formation and how they can bring about behaviour change more effectively.
Bakul Foundation secretary Sujit Mahapatra said, “This is not just a workshop but the start of a leadership journey. At the end of the workshop, participants will share their own action plans for leading change in their communities.”
