Champua Independent MLA Sanatan Mahakuda on Tuesday resigned from the post of president of the Jana Samruddhi Party in view of his weak health condition.

“The Jana Samruddhi Party had been formed in 2017 to work for development of Keonjhar district and Odisha. I am very thankful to people for their overwhelming support to the party. However, I am now unable to manage the affairs of the party as my health condition is deteriorating after an operation conducted in my spinal cord a few days back. Hence, I have resigned from the party post,” Mahakuda said.

He informed that he has sent his resignation letter to the executive committee of the party.

According to political observers, with Mahakuda’s resignation, the Jana Samruddhi Party stands virtually dissolved.
