Samrudha Odisha would highlight all-round failure of the BJD Government ahead of the 2014 polls and strive to emerge as an alternative to the ruling party, said regional outfit’s president Jatish Chandra Mohanty.
Addressing a Press conference here on Saturday, Mohanty alleged that the Government of Naveen Patnaik during its last 14 years of rule had failed miserably in bringing the desired pace of development in the State.
His promise to give a transparent and strong administration to bring prosperity in the State has proved hollow. While corruption increased by four times, law and order situation nosedived with Maoist activities having extended from four to 22 districts. There was no increase in power generation and expansion of irrigation and the Government had utterly failed in ensuring development in infrastructure sector, Mohanty charged.
He alleged that Chief Minister Patnaik had tried to hoodwink the people by distributing umbrella, old age pension, blanket and shoes and regretted that so far the efficient governance had remained a myth. Coming down heavily on the State Government for its failure to check irregularities in Phailin operations, Mohanty said that the State Government could not provide house building advance and other assistance to the affected people in Phailin and subsequent flood hit areas.
He claimed that his party would field candidates in all the 147 seats for the Assembly and at least 15 candidates for the lok Sabha seats.
He called up likeminded people to join Samrudha Odisha to bring a change by forming a people’s friendly Government.
Mohanty urged the people to give Samrudha Odisha a chance to form the Government in the State and assured that his party would remove poverty, bring development in all sectors and keep the law and order situation under control within three months provided it comes to power.
