The ninth round match between Sambit Panda and CM Aditya Mittal and scored seven points and shared the second place along with five others in the 29th National Under 11 Open Chess Championship at Pondicherry on Sunday.
Another two Odisha player Mahitosh Dey and Baihab Singh shared points with their respective opponents and scored six points each. Other Odisha boys, Rudranarayan, Soubhanik Mazumdar 4.5 points each, Pratyansu Kar four points, Ankit Kumar sethi 3.5 points and Saswat Mallik scored three points.
In girls, Ankita Sahoo suffered defeat from the high rated WFM Divya Deshmukh and scored six points. Other two girls, Aditi Mohanty and Priyanka Routray gathered five and 4.5 points respectively by the end of ninth round.
