The suicide of a young girl leaves both family members and police at a loss. Even though 48 hours have passed, both are clueless regarding the reason of her taking the extreme path.

While family members say there was no reason for the girl to commit suicide as she was so simple having no otherwise affairs, police also are yet to find a lead.

As per information a highly educated girl of Govindtola, Rakhi Nayak (29), jumped off the newly constructed bridge over Mahanadi near Nelson Mandela chowk.

Although police immediately rushed her to the hospital, but she was declared brought dead by the doctors.

It is further learnt that the girl was talking with a young man when the ‘WE squad’ vehicle of the police came and out of fear she might have jumped off the bridge leading to her death.

But other sources said that the girl had a hot exchange of words with the boy she was talking with around 7.30 evening and then she jumped off the bridge with sole intention of committing suicide.

“But we are yet to find the actual reason behind committing suicide by such a well qualified girl,” said Sambalpur SDPO Bhawani Shankar Udgata. “We are also unable to contact the family members realizing their problem in such a period,” he added.

However, ASP A Rana said that police seized the mobile phone of the girl and the call details could give them some clue including the person she was regularly contacting. “At the same time, the boy with whom she was there who left the spot immediately after the incident would be traced out soon. From him also we are hopeful of getting some clue as to the reason behind the suicide since the people nearby have heard them talking in an angry mood,” Rana added.
