Sambalpur district admin grievance app a big hit

Published on:

Since the district administration has opened an app for e-filing of grievances, 1,174 cases have been received regarding various problems of the people.  And 508 cases have been successfully disposed of, while 337 cases are under process.  46 cases were disposed of on Thursday, informed District Emergency Officer (DEO) Subhasmita Mishra while narrating the success of the new portal.

“The disposal rate is 73 per cent so far,” Mishra said further.

“With a novel intention of using modern technology and save valuable time of the people, the app was started on August 28 and the response of the people within just 66 days is tremendous.  People from far-off places are seen putting their grievances through the app instead of running hundreds of km to reach the Collectorate,” the DEO said further. There are also so many other gateways for filing of grievances including a toll free number that is available in the portal and website.  “On an average, we are receiving 12-15 grievances every day and we expect it to increase further since people are getting instant benefit,” the DEO said.

“I am personally monitoring the speedy disposal and tracking system.  A joint meeting is held every Monday to review the progress of the cases and find out the bottleneck on the way of redressal,” said Collector Subham Saxena.

“People can use the app, portal, website and a toll free number, whichever is convenient to them, for registration of their grievances. Thereafter, the grievance is forwarded to the concerned department and the person gets a message. Adequate attention is given to see that all the problems mentioned in the grievance are redressed in a stipulated time limit with information to the person seeking redressal,” the Collector said further.
