People from all walks of life here welcomed the police encounter in Hyderabad and killing four accused on Friday in the case of rape and murder of veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy.
The only discussion in offices to tea stall was the Hyderabad encounter. Students of colleges and universities shouted slogans supporting the police action and congratulating the cops. “This was the most befitting action against the criminals,” students of the GM University said while congregating in front of the university’s main gate to support the police. They also sent congratulation letters to top Hyderabad cops to boost their moral further.
Though a few human rights activists and social workers interpreted the encounter in a different way, common people did not buy their idea. A retired IAS officer, in his Face Book posting, dubbed the activists as members of CIA-funded organisations.
