KIIT & KISS founder and Kandhamal MP Dr Achyuta Samanta met differently-abled girl Subhadra Gumajira, a resident of Teranti village under Sukuli block in Mayurbhanj district during his one day visit to Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj on Tuesday. Subhadra's father died some years ago while her mother strives to make both ends meet working as a daily wage labourer. Though Subhadra has an intense penchant to pursue her study career, she is being compelled to rely on others to attend school. Dr Samanta extended his helping hand to Subhadra by arranging financial assistance on behalf of the KISS Foundation and making arrangements to provide Rs 2,000 as a monthly allowance. Besides, he assured Subhadra free education as long as she would like to pursue her study.

Dr Samanta met Subhadra at her home and donated a wheelchair to her. Subhadra's brother would also pursue his study in KISS, assured Samanta. Dr Samanta requested the local Sub-Collector to provide them a house as per Government norms.
