A joint eviction team on Monday demolished many illegal constructions from Salia Sahi to CRP Square here to widen existing road up to 100 feet in Jayadev Vihar Mouza under the Nayapalli police station limits. The eviction squad, consisting of personnel from the BDA, BMC, GA, R and B Division and the Commissionerate Police, demolished unauthorized constructions, including 45 boundaries, two wooden cabins, seven temporary thatched structures, two AC-sheeted structures and two boundary walls. Two platoons of APR force and a section leady force were deployed to maintain law and order situation during the demolition drive. However, the eviction drive was hampered and could not be completed due to some resistance at different points.
