Salepur Congress MlA Prakash Behera expressed his disappointment after the local bar association on Friday did not invite him to a function of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court there.
Sources said the Salepur Bar Association had invited Mahanga MlA and Health Minister Pratap Jena and DGP KB Singh to the function to celebrate the 34th foundation day of the JMFC Court.
Behera asked why he was not invited to attend the function while the MlA of neighbouring Mahanga constituency was invited. “As per the Constitutional process, the local MlA should be invited to any Government function in an Assembly constituency,” Behera pointed out. However, the bar association president said they apologise if they have hurt the sentiments of Behera. But the anniversary celebration is not a Government function.
