Three days after a minor girl of Nemala village under the Salepur police station in Cuttack district committed suicide after coming to know that a sex video featuring her with a local youth had been uploaded on the internet, a special police team arrested the prime accused Kamalakanta Malla and his associate from Bhadrak on Sunday morning.
The police team, led by a DSP, arrested Kamalakanta, a minor himself, and his associate from the Bhadrak town area, police sources said. Interrogation of Kamalakanta and his associate is on, the sources added.
According to police, Kamalakanta had shot the acts of love-making with the girl surreptitiously on a mobile camera and uploaded the video on the internet. The family members of the girl alleged that the accused had established a relationship, which later turned physical, with the deceased through deceit.
The girl’s father, in an FIR lodged with the Nemala police, had said his daughter revealed the name of the accused after he came to know about her sex video being uploaded on the internet. He said his daughter later committed suicide as she could not bear the humiliation that her intimate moments were uploaded on the internet.
