A buzz now keeps Salepur people busy that their Congress MlA Prakash Chandra Behera might join BJD in coming days.
People have started talking of the possibility after a recent development in which Behera was seen sharing dais with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other BJD leaders at a meeting held at Salepur on October 22.
The Chief Minister laid foundation stone for a host of projects worth Rs 102 crore during his visit.
Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda, Cuttack district BJD president and Mahanga MlA Pratap Jena, Cuttack district Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra and Zilla Parisad Chairman Prasant Behera were present when Behera was delivering his speech as the local MlA.
Behera showered praises on Naveen Patnaik throughout his speech. Patnaik is a successful leader and has emerged as the No.1 Chief Minister in the country, he said.
After this, the political analysts are of the view that Behera has already been closer to the BJD and might join it before 2019 general elections. And if Behera joins BJD, it would be a big jolt to the Congress in Cuttack district, they opined.
