The District Education Officer (DEO), Sundargarh, has ordered an inquiry into the payment of salary to a deceased MDM cook of a school for about 14 months.
Fulmani lakra was getting the salary credited to her account despite her death at Ulundajharn Primary School in Gurundia block.
Fulmani after her death on September 20, 2016 continued to get her salary of Rs1,000 credited to her account even though two of her successors did not get a single pie. After Fulmani, Parvati lakra was working for some time, followed by one lily Tirkey.
lily on February 28, 2017 had been appointed but was not getting her salary. When she told headmaster luis Kerketa that she has not got her salary since she has joined school and she requires money for Christmas celebration, Kerketta on inquiry came to know that the monthly salary was still getting credited into the bank account of Fulmani.
