Taking stringent action for violation of Covid-19 guidelines just a day after reopening of schools, the authorities have held up salaries of teachers and other staff of five schools in Keonjhar district.
The salaries of headmasters, teaching and nonteaching staffs of SMR High School, Jharbelda (Aided); Government High School, Khireitangiri; Bishoipat Government High School, Jamunaposi; PMB High School, Bolaniposi (new GIA); and Jhalamani High School, Denuan (new GIA) are held up for the month January 2021 until further clearance, stated an office order issued by the District Education Office.
The move came after the District Education Officer (DEO), during his course of visit to different schools on Friday, noticed negligence on the parts of the school authorities and breach in Covid-19 SoP issued by the School & Mass Education Department regarding reopening of schools.
The DEO found that the campuses of these schools were not properly cleaned, the SoP guidelines as prescribed not implemented and proper plan and routine had not been prepared for commencement of classes.
