The mineral rich district of Odisha brings huge revenue for the state, however, the local people of the area are deprived of many amenities that big towns can enjoy. There was a long standing demand of the people of Keonjhar for a good auditorium. Steel Authority of India limited (SAIl) has come forward to meet the requirement of the people to construct an auditorium cum training centre with all modern facilities. SAIl will spend over Rs 10 Cr. for constructing the 800 seated auditorium cum training centre which will have a shopping mall as well.

The centrally air conditioned auditorium, which will come up with all modern facilities, will serve as a Centre of Excellence for nurturing and development of the culture of Odisha. In addition to that it will be a place for holding seminar, workshop, training, etc. for the people of Keonjhar.

SAIl is spending crores of rupees every year on CSR in Odisha. In last five years it has spent over Rs. 22 Cr. for developmental work in Odisha villages, out of which Rs. 15 Cr. is spent exclusively for its Bolani mines peripheral villages and Keonjhar district.
