Villagers of Gajapati district have demanded that a safety be constructed from Kerandi village to Ratani village in order to protect life and properties of people from floods in the Mahendratanaya river.
Villagers made this demand before a team that visited the Cyclone and floods hit areas to take stock of the damages and people’s sufferings. The team comprised State Planning Board member Ramchandra Panda, former Parala MLA K Narayan Rao, BJD leader P Krishna and T Gopi. Panda assured the villagers that he would take up their demand with the Chief Minister.
