Top Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda alias Sunil was on Saturday shifted to the Choudwar Circle Jail in Cuttack from the Brahampur Circle Jail on health ground.
Informing this to the media, Brahmapur Jail Superintendent said, “Sabyasachi Panda has been shifted to the Choudwar Circle Jail for dental treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.”Panda was shifted from Brahmapur after he wrote to top jail authorities seeking their permission on health ground. He would undergo treatment at the dental wing of the premier hospital.
Notably, the elusive Red leader had been arrested from a house in the Bada Bazar area in Brahmapur in July 2014. Since then, the 47-year-old founder-leader of the Odisha Maobadi Party (OMP) was lodged at the Brahmapur jail.
