Nine cases have been registered by the Sambalpur Vigilance police against six officials of Watershed and Soil Conservation Department for siphoning off about Rs 30 lakh.
They prepared false bills and vouchers and withdrew a huge amount without executing RCC ring well during financial year 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 in Kutra block of Sundargarh district.
Besides about Rs 63 lakh was also siphoned off by the Watershed and
Soil Conservation Department officials without executing cashew plantation works for the beneficiaries.
After allegations, the Vigilance had initiated an inquiry and found that without doing RCC ring wells and cashew plantation for 44 beneficiaries, about Rs 93,37,186 was misappropriated by the concerned officials by preparing false bills and vouchers.
