The Hemgiri police of Sundargarh district arrested a youth of Madhya Pradesh on Monday for marrying a minor girl and raping her repeatedly. The victim minor girl is now six months’ pregnant. A woman who took the girl to MP and married her off too was held.
According to sources, the victim minor girl is 14 years’ old who resides under Hemgir police limit. On November 2, 2021, she had gone missing and her father had lodged an FIR about her missing.
A few days ago, an Aadhar card in the name of the missing minor girl reached her parents house on which surname of the minor girl had been mentioned as "Chadar" instead of her original surname and her age had been mentioned 18 years and a mobile number had been mentioned on the Aadhar card. After receiving the Aadhar card, the mother of the minor girl went to Hemgir police station and showed it to police.
The police came to know that the name of the holder of the mobile number is Vishal Chadar, son of Kalu Chadr, Satpara, under Patharia police station in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.
A police team went to the house of Vishal in Madhya Pradesh and with the help of local police, found the missing minor girl in his house. Police rescued her and brought her and Vishal to Hemgir on Sunday evening. During interrogation, the minor girl told that her cousin’s aunt Sanju had lured her to go with her to her house in Madhya Pradesh. After about two months, the minor girl was married off to Vishal (25) by Sanju as Vishal is the brother-in-law (husband's younger brother) of Sanju.
