Second seed Rutu Purna Choudhury emerged champion in the women’s single event by defeating fourth seed Ameek Kiran Batth in the 3rd Odisha Open Utkal Tennis Tournament at Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex here on Saturday.
In the semifinals, Rutu Purna and Ameek edged out third seed Anaam Almas and Shilpi S Dash 9-3 and 9-7 respectively. In the men’s single final, top seed Ansu Kumar Bhuyan will take on third seed Avilash Mishra.
