The family members of deceased Covid warrior Sarat Chandra Podha of Jharsuguda has been given Rs 50 lakh as compensation on Thursday.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had announced Rs 50 lakh compensation to the kin of medical officials and members of support services who die of Covid infection during performance of duty. Podha was working as attendant in the District Headquarters Hospital here before his death due to Corona. After his death, his family members were leading a very miserable life. His wife said, “We lost our bread winner and are still to receive compensation." The Jharsuguda CDMO has handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Podha's wife Gayatri Podha on Thursday.
