The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) has appealed to the Higher Education Minister to ensure functioning of the Ravenshaw Junior College inside the Ravenshaw University campus as before. In a memorandum addressed to the Minister, the students’ body said the Junior College has been functioning inside the Ravenshaw University campus since long and historically it has given birth to such an academic atmosphere and glory of its own that it can never be regained at any other places other than the existing place.
“Hence, in such a situation, transferring the Ravenshaw Junior College to any place outside of the existing campus will be proved as fatal and will invite so many inconveniences hindering it’s all out development,” the memorandum stated. The memorandum proposed that functioning of the Junior College i.e. its infrastructure should be covering the areas starting from backside of East hostel dining hall, its existing office, NCC office up to Bhargabi Women's hostel. Its hostels and staff quarters should be constructed at Malgodown and Jobra.
