The Commissionerate police have got the postmortem report of BJB College girl Ruchika Mohanty, who was found hanging in the college hostel recently.
The report confirmed that the student died of asphyxia due to hanging with a rope, informed police.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the viscera sample to laboratory for more tests.
However, the cops are still clueless about the three senior students who are abettors to Ruchika’s suicide.
Police questioned students of the college for 12 hours on Tuesday. They also recorded statements of 75 students, including Ruchika’s batch mates, seniors and juniors.
Police also sought call detail records (CDRs) of the concerned persons from the telecom service providers.
City DCP Prateek Singh said a police team had gone to Ruchika’s village in the Athagarh area and questioned her friends and acquaintances. The cops are hopeful of getting leads to ascertain the truth behind the suicide. They are holding the probe in coordination with the college authorities and have so far questioned more than 100 people.
