The State Transport Authority (STA) on Thursday asked all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to remain open on October 31 from 3 pm to 5 pm for vehicle registrations even though the day is a Government holiday on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja.
The decision was taken as it is expected that sale of motor vehicles would increase during the Lakshmi Puja this year. For smooth disposal of dealer point registration and approval, the RTOs were asked to do the job from home.
