RTI activists under the fold of Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhijan on Wednesday staged a demonstration and held a protest meeting in front of the district Collector office here on Wednesday.
After coming in a rally, they demanded before the district administration and State Government to arrest the accused who assaulted Suvam Sarathi, son of RTI campaigner Kalandi Rout of Bhagabanpur village on last May 11night brutally. The victim is undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
They also demanded dismissal the IIC of Marshaghai police station from his job, protection to life and property of RTI activists and financial assistance of `5 lakh to the victim’s family.
They warned of intensifying the stir if their demands are not fulfilled. When contacted, Marshaghai police station IIC Sukant Kumar Patra informed that accused have been identified and a haunt is on to nab them very shortly.
