The District Retired Teachers and Employees Association, Puri took out a rally from Mochisahi Chhak to the district Collector’s office protesting alleged injustice done to retired teachers and employees relating to payment of arrear pension.
They demanded early payment of pension as per the 7th Pay Commission and withdrawal of ‘unjust’ letter of Finance Special Secretary that deprives them of revised pension for three months and 100 per cent pension arrears in spite of the Government orders.
After the rally, a representative of the association submitted a memorandum to the district Collector and requested him to send the same to the Chief Minister.
Pensioners and family pensioners expressed serious discontentment because of nonpayment of their legitimate dues at a meeting held on May 28, 2018.
In the memorandum, they have demanded that the Chief Minister intervene and give justice to the pensioners and family pensioners.
About 100 members of the association party participated in the rally.
