The unit has been getting the support of the structural and fabrication shop, repair, steel melting shops and the field machinery maintenance departments. Apart from the slag ladle cups, the Foundry Department is regularly producing castings for blast furnace (5), hammer head and liner for OBBP, star breaker and liner for sinter plant complex and other ferrous and non ferrous castings as per requirement of the plant. All these enterprising helped the plant reduce the cash outflow and accrue savings to the tune of approximately Rs 20 crore per annum.
