A section of the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) displaced people have been staging a hunger strike in front of the ADM office here for the last seven days demanding jobs.
Two more agitators, Manga Oram(30) and Shankar Prasad Sahu(34), fell ill and were hospitalised. It is alleged that if the district administration fails to act soon, many of the agitators may fall sick. Source said about fifty agitators are on hunger strike against the betrayal of the district administration and the RSP management.
ADM RN Mishra said his office has already handed over the list of the demands with documents to the RSP. He has also intimated regarding the agitation to the Collector and the Governmen. Still then, he is persuading the agitators to call off the hunger strike and hopeful that some solution would come out soon.
