BJP Youth wing led by State president Tankadhar Tirpathy lodged a FIR in Sundargarh police station on Friday against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Minister Sanjay Dasburma and the BPUT Vice Chancellor for cheating thousands of unemployed persons.

Tripathy alleged that on August 31, 2014, the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) had released an advertisement wherein it had been mentioned that the unemployed persons with various degrees can appear in a special written examination to get employment.

The applicants had deposited Rs 100 towards fee to write the written test. It had also been mentioned that the special job drive had been arranged by BPUT and the Employment Technical Education and Training Department to provide employment to a large number of unemployed youths.

Total 48,000 unemployed male and female persons had applied to appear at the special written examination by depositing Rs100 each. As per the advertisement, the written examination was supposed to be held on September 17 and 19. The applicants had eagerly waited to appear at the examination but it was not conducted on the due date.

It was informed on the website that the written examination would be held after Diwali, but the date of the written examination had not been mentioned. Thereafter, when the applicants again opened the site to know the date of examination, the site did not open.

Thereafter, the applicants have been cheated and Minister Dasburma who is in charge of State Technical Education and Training Department should be held responsible along with the BPUT VC and the Chief Minister, said Tripathy.

The BJP Youth wing warned that if action was not being taken against the accused, the wing would launch a stir. It said that Rs48 lakh had been bungled in the case.
