Vigilance police recovered illegal money of Rs3, 73, 720 from Gajapati R and B Division II Assistant Executive Engineer Pramod Kumar Mohapatra on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, the Vigilance police intercepted Mohapatra near Girisola check gate while he was taking the money in a Maruti car to Bhubaneswar. Though Mohapatra stated that Paralakhemundi Sub-Collector Srinivash had given him the money, yet the latter denied having given the money during confrontation, an official release informed.
