A record Rs1.73 crore was collected as fine through disposal of a total of 618 cases of various nature at the district-level lok Adalat held here on Saturday.
The judicial officers settled 359 petty criminal, 27 bank loan default, two cheque bounce, 10 marriage dispute, 26 civil and 56 bank cases and awarded over Rs30 lakh to claimants in motor accident cases, informed District legal Service and Advisory Body Member-Secretary Manas Rath. Additional District Sessions Judge Rajkishore Naik inaugurated the lok adalat while CJM V Sujata, Senior Civil Judge Sunil Kumar Das, Additional Civil Judge Anjali Padhi, SDJM Sibasish Giri and Registrar Debidutt Pattnaik conducted the Adalat proceedings.
